Artistic Director & Founder
Manuel Romero is a classically trained violinist with a formation rooted in the conservatory tradition. His academic studies in violin — spanning technique, interpretation, and chamber repertoire — gave him not only the technical foundation of a professional musician, but the listening intelligence of an interpreter: the ability to hear a piece not as a sequence of notes, but as an arc of meaning.
Over years of performing at weddings, private receptions, and corporate events across multiple cities and countries, Manuel observed the same gap, repeatedly: the musical experience of an event was rarely conceived with the same care as its venue, its catering, or its décor. Music was the last thing planned and the first thing forgotten.
MUSICORDES was his answer to that gap.
As Artistic Director, Manuel brings a range of repertoire that spans baroque and classical, romantic and contemporary, film scores, jazz standards, and French chanson. This range is not a catalogue — it is the material from which each event's bespoke soundscape is built.
The Origin
MUSICORDES did not begin as a company. It began as a question Manuel kept returning to after every event: what would this evening have felt like if the music had been designed for it — not just played at it?
The answer became a practice. A way of approaching each event not as a performance opportunity, but as a musical direction challenge. What formation fits this venue? What repertoire serves this couple's aesthetic? Where does the music need to breathe, and where does it need to lead?
The name MUSICORDES carries that origin within it — music and chords, yes, but also cordes in French: strings. The instrument that started it all, and the material from which every MUSICORDES ensemble is built.
